About the role
This is an opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a growing company that really values their people. Managing and leading a team of approximately 18 Warehouse Operatives, you will lead the team to achieve objectives, working rotating shifts 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm Monday to Friday.
You will be responsible for performance management, absence management, retention, team briefings, disciplinaries linked to day to day Team Manager responsibilities.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the quality of that the team produce and all Health & Safety matters in their area of work and team. The role will involve resource planning and include budgetary planning and control plus will manage an operational shift and site in the absence of the Operations Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone that has proven experience of managing people within a warehouse environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring that safe working practices are adopted and observed at all times so as to ensure a safe working environment for everyone
Managing standards of cost, efficiency, quality and productivity in all areas. Ensuring the best possible service levels are achieved for our customers
Ensuring the site works within health & safety processes and procedures
Ensuring all working procedures are clearly cascaded, resolving any issues quickly
Managing absence, conduct and performance in line with the company policies and procedures
Achieving of Key Performance Indicators and delivering a high level on time, on cost, and in line with customer service expectations
Ensuring high levels of housekeeping is maintained
About you
The ideal Warehouse Team Manager will be/have:
Experience of managing a team, including quality management, performance management, sickness reviews
Experience in incident reporting including incident investigations
Experience in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Experienced in using the full range Microsoft Office IT packages
Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment, workload and able to think on your feet
Experience of working as part of a team
Experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives to processes would be beneficial to this role
