About Our Client
Michael Page Logistics have partnered with a reputable European 3PL provider in their search for a Warehouse Site Manager to oversee a brand new facility, and the companies first UK DC in Burton-on-Trent.
This role will play a critical part in this organisations expansion plans, leading what will be the first opf many UK DC's and helping delivering continued growth.
The successful candidate will have worked for a 3PL provider previously, be competent within Operations, Customer & P&L Management. The ability to secure and on board new business would also be advantageous.
Job Description
The Warehouse Site Manager role will require the individual to:
- Report to the Head of UK Logistics (or similar).
- Manage a team of 80+ operatives through 3 direct reports, at a Shift Manager level across various shifts.
- Be responsible for inbound, pick and outbound operations.
- Have full control of the operating budget for headcount.
- Be responsible for the inventory management through your teams.
- Be responsible for ensuring the daily analysis, reporting and performance metrics are adhered to.
- Full site H&S control.
- Accountable for people development and performance management within the operation.
- Commutable to Burton-on-Trent, Derby.
This role would suit a candidate that has worked in a; Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Operations Manager, Operations Manager, Logistics Manager, Depot Manager, Site Manager or General Manager role previously.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the Warehouse Site Manager role will have the following skills and experiences:
- A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background - Essential.
- Be educated to an A Level or Degree Level standard - Advantageous.
- A minimum of 3+ years Logistics experience at an Site Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager, Site Manager or General Manager level - Essential.
- Have worked within an 3PL environment previously - Essential.
- Have the ability to develop into a multi-site position within 12 months - Advantageous.
- Have managed in excess of 100+ employees indirectly before - Essential.
- Have experience of Six Sigma / Prince2 / Continuous Improvement methodologies - Advantageous.
- A competent user of Microsoft packages including Excel, along with the ability to up skill quickly around WMS's - Essential.
- Experience on managing budgets up to £5m+ per year - Advantageous.
- Be results driven and commercially minded.
- Be commutable to Burton-on-Trent, Derby.
