WAREHOUSE/RECYCLING OPERATIVE
Location: LEES’ OF SCOTLAND, COATBRIDGE
Shift: DAY SHIFT, MON – THURS, 10:00 – 18:30, FRI – 10:00 – 17:30
Salary: Starting salary £11.14
We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse / recycling Operative to join our Warehousing team at our Lees’ of Scotland bakery, based in Coatbridge.
You may know us from our Snowballs, teacakes or meringues, as we’ve been manufacturing confectionery and meringues since 1931 to major retailers across the UK. We employee 250 people at our modern 80,000 square ft factory which is located just outside of Glasgow and is easily accessible by public transport. We’ve joined one of the UK’s leading specialty bakery manufacturer Finsbury Food Group earlier this year who make the bread for your morning toast, the buns, muffins and other treats that turn teatime into quality time and retailer own brands cakes, tray bakes through to party cakes like Caterpillar cakes. To join our Warehouse team, part of the role of a Warehouse / Recycling Operative will be assisting with loading and unloading of vehicles, stock and order picking, and put away within a busy warehouse and transport environment. With the primary objective of meeting business demand and maintaining product specifications whilst ensuring minimum costs, segregation and processing of various waste into specified containers, whilst ensuring compliance as per waste carriers specification, controlling and processing cardboard and plastic through compaction, in addition to the mentioned functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may be required, the use of a PPT and counterbalance forklift is essential for this role, and candidates must hold a current up to date license, previous experience in this type of role and environment would be advantageous, although training will be given. This is an active role where you'll work towards daily targets and as part of a larger site Team, so clear communications and time management skills are essential.
To be successful in this role, the Warehouse Operatives will have a good work ethic and will be proud of the work they do. They will be able to communicate politely and openly to their teams and managers, to highlight any challenges, ask for support and give support - you are working as part of team. Salary is dependent on your experience you have for the role but offers the opportunity to increase your salary with training.

This is what you’ll actually do!
As a Warehouse Operative you’ll transport pallets of goods to and from the production and warehouse areas. Picking & building orders as per customer requirements, using hand held scanners and loading and unloading of the vehicles.
You will maintain customer product specifications and ensure compliance within the production and warehouse environment. As you’ll gain an understanding of department function within the business and recognize product range & processing methods. Along with being aware of the inter-departmental dependency on final products and have a knowledge of influencing factors.
As a Warehouse Operative you’ll maximize productivity and process flow using a range of processing methods. Comply with the hygiene standards at all times, completing hygiene tasks and associated recording documentation within the warehouse areas. Also ensuring that you follow the company Health & Safety policy and have a diligent approach to such matters within the production and warehouse environment.
We will train and support you in your role, as there will be times where you’ll need to develop skills applicable to specific functions and tasks.
