Summary
£60,000 up to £82,000 per annum - This isn’t starting a new job. This is starting a new journey.
Working alongside the Regional Head of Logistics and three other Warehouse Team Managers, the Warehouse Process Team Manager will support with the optimisation of warehouse processes through strategic planning, analysis and project work. This varied role will involve cross-departmental collaboration and new project launches as well as ‘Business as usual’ tasks and responsibilities. You will also oversee the Goods In team, checking every single product as it arrives from our suppliers.
As a Warehouse Team Manager, you'll inspire and motivate the team to get it right every time. It's hands-on and hard work. You'll make sure they know that we rely on every single person, working to the best of their ability, to get the job done. Stay calm when things don’t go to plan. Keep track of every detail, even when things get busy.
To lead and develop Warehouse Operatives and Assistant Team Managers, you'll need to be assertive, happy handling strong personalities and building relationships with our supply chain. It's full-on, fast-paced and not for the faint-hearted. And you wouldn't want it any other way.
What you'll do
- Warehouse process analysis, identifying potential gains and operational improvements
- Leading the inventory process
- Warehouse merchandising optimisation
- Direct contact for external warehouse operations and inventory
- Analysis of the claims and write-off process
- Collaboration with key Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) stakeholders
- Ensuring process compliance with both legislative and Lidl GB standards
- Motivate and train your team to get everything spot on and keep our products moving
- Check all stock as it arrives - if anything's out of place, you’ll chase it up with our suppliers
- Support your Assistant Team Managers to recruit, train and develop their teams
- Make sure we're always on top of Health & Safety and legal regulations
What you'll need
- Is able to take a ‘big-picture’ and holistic view of warehouse process design and implementation
- Can evidence experience of project work, taking ideas through from concept, design phase to implementation and results
- Display a collaborative working style whilst still maintaining a focus on end goal objectives
- Possesses a detailed and thorough knowledge of warehouse operations
- Demonstrates commerciality in their thinking and decision-making
- Supervisory or management experience in a warehouse environment
- A confident leadership style with an aptitude for training and developing a team
