Helix Operations provides vertical mobility solutions worldwide for the security, defence, and rescue markets. We supply equipment, systems and training to clients in the UK and across the world.
We are looking for a Warehouse Picker and Packer to help us increase and improve our logistics capability.
It involves working in a small team where there is a heavy workload at times and a willingness to work hard with accuracy, efficiency and good humour is needed. The position will be most suited to a person who is adaptable, can use their initiative, takes pride in their work and has a strong drive to help us meet customers’ expectations.
The ideal person will be looking to grow with the company. We will be investing substantially in improving our logistics over the next 3 years and so it is a role with good growth opportunity, but will take drive and energy especially at the start.
Key Tasks:
- Taking delivery of goods from a variety of sources and the checking in of stock.
- Checking for damaged or missing items.
- Sorting and placing materials or items on to racks, and shelves.
- Moving stock around the warehouse using lifting equipment.
- Collecting items from throughout the warehouse, preparing and completing warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to a schedule.
- Performing warehouse inventory controls via scanner and or through a computer.
- Stock counting and location checks.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Following quality service standards and complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
As part of the warehouse team you will be working both alone and as part of a team with efficiency and commitment to complete your work and strive to maintain the business performance targets.
Essential to your success in the role will be the ability to demonstrate
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy packages on a regular basis.
- Ability to follow processes and procedures accurately and consistently.
- Computer literate with good numerical skills.
- The ability to prioritize and meet customer deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- To work quickly, always maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Self- motivated, initiative, and high energy levels.
Desirable
- Experience in a warehouse environment
- Experience of stocktaking.
- Fork Lift Truck licence

Salary: £9.50-£10.00 per hour
