We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join our team. Working within the Operations team and reporting into our Stores & Logistics Manager. Your primary responsibility is to provide laboratory instrument packing support to the Logistics team.

Responsbilities

  • Primarily responsible for the precise & meticulous packing of all completed laboratory instruments for customer requirements and UK storage in advance of future shipments.
  • Oversee the ordering of packing material (including crates) in accordance with company order requirements and expectations.
  • Update and maintain a Sharepoint site for all packing history and shipping images to assist with eliminating customer discrepancies
  • Communication with production and logistics to ensure daily packing requirements are adhered to in accordance with shipping schedules & quality standards
  • Assisting with Spares order processes from order entry to shipping, acting as cover in the role alongside the logistics manager.
  • Assisting with general ad hoc admin duties, such as filing, doc-tracking, ete
  • Conscientious, meticulous, positive and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn a variety of tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word / Excel desirable.

About you


  • Be physically fit as some manual lifting will be required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Careful planning, thorough and attention to detail pivotal.
  • Desire to maintain and promote a safe, clean, tidy and amicable working environment.
  • Good people skills with a “can do” attitude.

Desirables

  • A Forklift License. Not essential as we can put you on a training course.
  • Knowledge of export shipping.
  • Knowledge of Brexit shipping procedure changes would be an advanatagt but not essential.

This position has scope to develop and take more responsibility of the instrument packing department and grow this function within our Logistics team.
