Warehouse Operative Luton, East of England, England
Job description
Sporting Wholesale Ltd are importers and distributors of sporting goods, particularly fishing tackle under our NGT brand. We are looking for warehouse operatives to start immediately in Butterfields Business Park, Luton.
Hours will be 8:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday with a 45 minute lunch break plus 15 minute supplementary break. Overtime work may be asked of you during busy times (which is preferable if you are able to do it, though is not mandatory) and paid at time and a half.
Primary duties will include:
- Picking orders
- Packing orders
- Checking orders
- Processing courier shipment labels
- Manually unloading/loading containers and lorries
- Manually arranging boxes around the warehouse
- Keeping the warehouse tidy
The role is physically demanding as cartons of various sizes and weights are continuously loaded, unloaded and moved around the warehouse. Ideal candidates must be able to work within a team and/or alone and be physically fit. You must be able to work to deadlines in a calm, calculated and logical manner. Speaking and reading English to a reasonable level is required.
A counterbalance forklift license is not essential, but desirable. Previous manual warehouse experience including picking and packing large orders and unloading deliveries is required as we are looking for experienced staff who can fit into the team from day 1. We are looking for candidates who want a long term position in a stable environment.
Salary will start at £22,000.00 and be reviewed after an initial probation period (3 month)
