George Boyd is now recruiting now for a 4 part time permanent Warehouse Operatives working 25 hours per week with option of overtime for next 3 months.
£10.86 per hour + Pension + Life Assurance + Private Medical and 31 days holiday per year (pro rate for part time)
You’ll be working for George Boyd in Govan, Glasgow. George Boyd is one of more than 30+ exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK and is the UK’s specialist distributor of architectural ironmongery and commercial doorsets.
A great Warehouse Operative at George Boyd will put safety above all else, work well in a team and be enthusiastic about the work they do.
As a quick learner, you’ll be flexible to work in different areas, take responsibility for the work you do and always show good attention to detail. To supervise our warehouse, you will have:
- Previous experience gained in a warehouse or distribution team
- Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Great Communication Skills
- Industry experience preferred but not essential as training will be provided
What will I be doing in the role?
Our Warehouse Operatives are very important to the smooth running of the business, you will be responsible for the safe, continuous and efficient running of the warehouse. The role is important to help ensure products are where they need to be on time and you will be responsible to ensure that the product is ready for the customer to collect. To support our customers effectively you will;
- Picking, Loading and unloading deliveries
- Manual lifting for our customers
- Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to support needs of the branch
- Achievement of warehouse Key Performance Indicators to agreed standards, incorporating productivity, pick accuracy and customer service targets
- Oversee stock control and inventory; to include responsibility for purchasing from certain suppliers
- Support and assist Health and Safety culture to ensure that both staff and customers are free from accidents and that all parties actively endorse a safe and healthy working environment
Hours of work: The site is operational Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, for the next three months we will require support over the weekends Saturday 10-4pm and occasional Sundays
