We are currently hiring for a Warehouse Operative in a fast paced environment. We are looking for someone with experience within a similar role.
Description of the role;
Job purpose: To be responsible, as required by the warehouse manager, to receive and process, locate, pick, and pack parcels for despatch, and deal with any returned customer orders.
General role:
· To deliver excellent service, and follow the organisational framework in the warehouse
· To solve issues with problem orders wherever possible and refer them to supervisor if unable to deal with them.
· Maintain a positive, proactive approach to all tasks.
· Communicate any issues or improvements to your Supervisor.
· To ensure good health and safety practices and that all passageways and working areas are kept clean and clear of obstructions.
· To ensure supplies of consumables are available and re-order as necessary.
· To remove any faulted items from stock and up-date website quantities as appropriate.
· To record daily figures to monitor activity within warehouse.
· To inform the supervisor on stock issues such as sizing, quality, fast or slow sellers, re-stocking needs and rates of returns.
· To assist in the training of staff.
· To inform the supervisor of any issues or needs regarding warehouse premises including security, storage, staff facilities, maintenance, health and safety, waste management, repairs and renewals of equipment and consumables on a daily basis.
· To assist with the monthly warehouse stocktake.
· To attend staff meetings as required.
· To perform any other duties typical of the post when required.
Processing:
· To ensure that all incoming stock has been processed in a timely manner.
· Ensure all processes are carried out e.g. carrying out necessary checks as requested, labelling and bagging correctly, locating and filling all relevant paperwork.
Pick and pack:
· To check the website at regular times throughout the day to print off orders, labels etc. on a regular basis.
· Help ensure that all customer orders taken up till 4pm are despatched the same day.
· To organise picking and packing of orders in the most efficient way.
· To ensure that all orders have been picked and bagged for collection by couriers by the end of the day.
Returns:
· To highlight returns on invoices and pass them to the admin staff for refunding.
· To re-pack and label perfect returned goods and return them to stock.
· Assist with the put away of good returns back into stock.
· To remove any faulted or marked items from returned stock, ensuring the relevant area is marked with a sticker or noted on the label, before hanging the goods on the appropriate rails.
· To repair and clean any faulted or marked goods as appropriate to return goods when possible to stock.
· To pack and label any waste goods for disposal and record for the returns supervisor.
