We’re on the lookout for Warehouse Operatives to come and help us in our final mile operation at the distribution centre on Beddington Lane, Croydon.

Role

Primary responsibilities

Loading boxes of fruit and vegetables into our delivery vans:

  • Reading from the manifest sheet, replenishing pallets, loading boxes onto racks, passing them to other Warehouse Operatives directly into vans and ensuring documentation is completed.
  • Neatly stacking empty pallets.
  • Cleaning up after loading is finished.

Quality control of reusable boxes:

  • Quality checking each box according to the training provided and neatly stacking the boxes ready to be sent back to the packhouse or to our recycling/reuse partners.

Packing of Oddbox add-on products and preparing the pallets to be sent to our packhouse.

Ad-hoc tasks:

  • Help with the setup of the packing area, picking the products and arranging the area in advance of the packing operation.
  • Help with the setup of the warehouse or unload vehicles using the forklift, if licensed, in advance of the loading operation.
  • Office assistance in advance of loading, preparing keys, manifests, complaints, cancellations and other paperwork.

Timeframes

The Oddbox Operations team will inform the Warehouse Operative of the approximate hours for each week giving the Warehouse Operative at least a week’s notice. The exact loading hours will vary depending on the number of boxes to be loaded and the length of time taken to load the vehicles.

The Warehouse Operative will be paid the London Living Wage for the hours worked, including any breaks.

For every 6 hours worked, the Warehouse Operative is entitled to a thirty (30) minutes paid break.

Box of produce

The Warehouse Operative is entitled to a box of produce at a discounted rate of 50% off which need to be ordered online at www.oddbox.co.uk and the discount applied by speaking to a member of the Oddbox Customer Happiness Team.
