Role Summary

Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, the Warehouse Operative is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective control of inbound, internal and outbound products and stock. Which is crucial to the smooth and professional running of overall factory operations and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Warehouse Operatives are the heartbeat of the factory, ensuring the conformity of inbound products, handling and securing finished stock and preparing orders for on time despatch to our global portfolio of customers.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a busy warehouse environment, which must have included handling and packing manufactured stock for global distribution, by sea, road and air freight.
  • A genuine passion for warehouse operations, understanding how it is a crucial part of ensuring on time delivery to customers.
  • A confident self-starter with the ability to prioritise and proactively manage their own workload, in order to achieve daily despatch schedules and collection times.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently and professionally communicate obstacles in order for the Operations Teams to overcome them.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment, and be physically able to cope with typical warehouse duties including manual handling loads around 15 - 25kgs.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck experience and/or a previous License is essential.
  • A valid Counterbalance Forklift Operator License is highly desirable.
  • A valid Overhead Gantry Crane Operator License is highly desirable.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Picking and handling serialised components to be despatched from stock, including the use of a manual pallet truck, forklift and overhead gantry crane.
  • Goods outwards inspection, determining to specification supply prior to preparing orders for despatch. Reporting discrepancies or anomalies to the Warehouse Team Leader.
  • Palletised packing and wrapping of components ready for despatch, ensuring all the necessary documentation/paperwork is prepared, accurate and secured with each order.
  • Packing, wrapping and securing of components on to pole pallets for container loading, ensuring all the necessary documentation/paperwork is prepared, accurate and secured with each order.
  • Despatching orders, on time and to customer requirements, assisting in the timely booking out of the goods on the ERP System. Reporting discrepancies or anomalies to the Warehouse Team Leader.
  • Maintain stock in a secure and quality condition, with periodical stock counts.
  • Pick listed project components, assemble and bolt them up to the required torque and secure them in the test rig, ready for proof load testing activity to be completed by the Project Management Team. Then disassemble after testing and pack for customer despatch.
  • Working with minimal supervision, displaying a strong pride in one’s work and good eye to detail.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment and tools, working to Company Quality, Safety and Environmental System requirements.
  • Storing, handling and using any substances in accordance with Safety Data Sheets, CoSHH and DSEAR Assessments. Reporting any concerns or anomalies to the H&S Manager.
  • Adhering to all Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Ad-hoc duties to assist the Warehouse Team Leader and Operations Director with the smooth running of the warehouse as required.

Role Specifics:

Availability: We are recruiting 1 experienced Warehouse Operative.

Location: Factory Based - Holton Heath Trading Park, Poole.

Salary: £21,000 - £23,500 Dependent on Experience (approx. £10.10 to £11.30 p/h).

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:30. Friday 08:30 to 16:00 (total of 40 hours per week). Voluntary overtime available.

Holiday: 20 days pro-rata plus the Christmas Shutdown period and UK Bank Holidays.
