Warehouse Operative (Monday to Friday – Day Shift Only)

Full time – Working Monday to Friday, 40 hours between 8:00 and 17:00 (ideally 08:30-16:30)

£10.50 - £11.30 per hour depending on experience, plus overtime.

Kingfisher Direct Ltd is an online retailer specialising in commercial and industrial products supplied to businesses and public sector organisations across the UK and Europe. Our product range includes waste and recycling bins, water tanks, and winter safety products.

We are an established and trusted supplier to the construction, waste/recycling, and manufacturing industries. We are also a leading supplier of our product ranges to the public sector including, private/state schools, colleges, academies and universities, local authorities, armed forces, and the NHS.

As part of our growth plans, an opportunity is now available to join our Warehouse and Dispatch team to help fulfil customer orders.

Main duties include:

• Receive deliveries of goods and supplies.
• Check for damaged or missing items.
• Storing goods in a suitable manner.
• Moving stock around by hand, using lifting gear or forklift truck. (Counterbalance and Reach Truck license and experience is preferred, but not essential)
• Picking and packing orders for post, parcel courier or palletised delivery.
• Some very basic use of power tools to install locks and wheels onto products before dispatch.
• Load, and sometimes deliver goods.
• Keep records of stock and process transactions on computer and handheld barcode scanner.
• Communicate via Phone, Email and Teams, with other departments such as Sales or Marketing, to action any queries or requests they have.
• Tidy and reorganise the Warehouse to ensure a high level of safety and efficiency.
• Be involved in the continuous improvement of Warehouse processes, to constantly remove waste and struggle and allow more to be achieved with less effort.
• Understanding of, and adherence to Health and Safety rules.

Requirements for the role:

• Positive attitude
• Self-Managed, though you will report into a Team Leader, we are a small, fast paced team who need to be able to work independently without constant instruction.
• Methodical worker, able to follow a process consistently, but also question how that process can be improved to make life easier.
• Experienced in a distribution warehouse is highly desirable, though not essential if you have the right attitude.
