We are now recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative at our site on Herries Road, Sheffield. Following predefined warehouse procedures and best practices, the roles are required to ensure materials are received, cut and despatched accurately, safely, efficiently and in line with customer requirements.

The role operates a 2 weekly rotating shift pattern:
Week 1: MON-THURS - 06.00-14.00, FRI - 06.00-12.00,
Week 2: MON-THURS - 14.00-22.00, FRI - 12.00-18.00
The main tasks of the role will include:
- To unload incoming material safely and efficiently, whilst ensuring it complies with ordered requirements
- To book incoming material on to the company ERP system and safely transfer it to the appropriate storage location
- To operate sawing equipment to cut steel to the customers ordered requirements
- To carry out routine cleaning and maintenance on saws
- To inspect cut items and ensure they meet the required dimensional tolerances
- To package material safely and in line with specific customer requirements
- To identify cut and bar pick items in accordance with the customer’s requirements
- To operate OH cranes, Forklift trucks and sideloaders to safely move material around the warehouse
- To load vehicles with material for dispatch, ensuring material is loaded and secured safely
- To carry out routine checks on forklift trucks, sideloaders and saws and to report any faults to the Shopfloor Supervisor
- To work in accordance with standard works and Health & Safety procedures at all times
- To keep the warehouse and facilities clean and tidy
- To achieve/beat targets set by the Shopfloor Supervisor
- Adhere to company policies
- Adhoc duties as requested by the management team
The following experience is essential:
· Trained in the operation of an Overhead Crane
· Trained and experienced on a FLT
The following experience is desired but not essential:
· Trained in the operation of a Sideloader/Combilift
· Trained in the operation of a Bandsaw
