Warehouse Operative - Full Time

Warehouse Operative
Di-LOG is looking for a warehouse operative to control the flow of stock through our warehouse, monitoring goods in and out, safely and efficiently moving and handling items, and keeping stock records.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional organisational and time management skills, and experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment would be preferred. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong attention to detail. Applicants with experience and familiarity in a similar role are strongly encouraged to apply.
Warehouse Executive duties and responsibilities
The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for some or all of the following:
Goods In
· loading and unloading goods from delivery vans or lorries
· checking that the correct quantity and type of goods have been received
· recording any damaged, missing or faulty goods
· signing the delivery form, once satisfied that the goods are complete
· moving the goods to the correct area in the warehouse, either manually or if qualified, using mechanical handling equipment
· labelling goods
Storage & Stock Control
· allocating storage space to goods
· relocating and re-stacking goods to make space for a new delivery
· keeping records (often computerised) of goods, their location and quantity
Goods Out
· picking goods that have been ordered
· keeping records of goods which have been picked
· preparing despatch notes and labels
· moving and stacking goods ready for delivery, either by hand or if qualified, using machinery
General Responsibilities
· compliance with security procedures and health & safety
· maintaining the warehouse in a tidy state and clearing away packing material and debris
· using computerised systems and other technology to record goods movement
In addition to these duties, some warehouse assistants may have additional responsibility for:
· liaising with management and customers
· quality control of goods in and/or goods out

Experience
Warehouse experience and experience working in a similar position are advantageous but not vital as training will be given.
Educational and Training
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Operations database experience is preferred, as well as previous working experience with Microsoft Word, and Excel. Attention to detail, highly organised, multi-tasking, continuous follow-through, keen ability to research and learn new things, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Language Skills
Ability to fluently speak and understand English. Ability to read, analyse, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and visitors.
Working Hours and Benefits
Salary based on NMW 1st April 2022
Hours Mon-Fri 9-5pm, (37.5 hours per week)
Full time permanent
Holidays: 20 days pa. increases by 1 day per year of employment.
