Job Introduction

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be a valuable member of a team, committed to providing great service to stores and customers alike. You will need to work to a high standard, meet the required productivity and accuracy standards and do so in a safe manner

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Operation of boom truck / MHE (only if qualified to do so) for picking / moving carpets and flooring products as required
  • To keep your area of work clean and tidy as required and adopt a ‘clean as you go’ approach
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Adhere to health and safety policies
  • Report any issues of a Health and Safety nature
  • To work accurately
  • To have flexibility to cover other roles in the warehouse in order to meet operational needs
  • Be prepared to work extra hours and overtime when the business need arises and especially at peak times
  • Working in a team environment
  • Process paperwork - as required
  • Operate IT systems - as required
  • Working within a physically demanding environment
  • Operation of Mechanical Handling Equipment – as required
  • Manual handling
  • To ensure work is carried out using the appropriate equipment for the job and to follow company procedures so that KPI's can be achieved in the most effective and safe manner.
  • Undertake appropriate training to become multi-skilled
  • Ensure daily MHE / Equipment checks are carried out and relevant forms completed
  • To report any defects using the appropriate channels
  • Assist in identifying any areas to improve the operation Any other duties as deemed reasonable within the scope of the role as requested by management
  • To assist in the cleaning of the warehouse as required
  • Adhere to start and finish times and processes to support
  • To comply with company policies
  • To support the objectives of the business
  • To operate the cutting machine (only if qualified to do so)
  • Being able to work under pressure
