Team Manager Nightshift – World of Books – Coventry Warehouse

We have an exciting new opportunity available within our Coventry Warehouse. Following our forever expanding business, we have recently launched a night shift and are looking to recruit a new Night Shift Team Manager to play a pivotal role in the delivery of the warehouse function.
With the recent launch of the night shift, this is a new role and a great opportunity for the successful candidate to make the role their own entirety covering all our warehouse functions and contributing to the long-term operational strategy.
As a Team Manager you will be required to achieve warehouse objectives in terms of operational, compliance, customer service and HR tasks and responsibilities, through effective management of employees, maintenance of company operating standards.
The Team Manager will form an integral part of the Coventry Operations team reporting into the Operations Manager.
About the role

  • Responsible for the management and smooth running of operations on the night shift
  • Responsible for ensuring that correct Health and Safety procedures are followed, and areas are kept to a high standard, reporting potential risks and accidents, and conducting investigations to be escalated to the H&S Teams in a timely manner.
  • Maintain on target KPI performance in the warehouse operations, Receiving, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Experience of managing teams, within a customer focused and fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Driving team performance, managing engagement and recognition activities
  • Managing absence and behaviours in line with Company policies and procedures
  • Be a role model for the values and behaviour.
  • Coach the team in particular senior team leaders and champion their development.
  • Administrative duties as and when they are required.
About You
  • You will have strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, coach, motivate and manage a team.

  • Experience managing a large team in a warehouse/production/manufacturing environment in a mid to senior – level.

  • Leads by example with a management style fit for leading an engaged and forward-thinking team
Advantageous additional qualifications
  • IOSH Managing Health and Safety at work or NEBOSH General certificate in occupational health and safety
  • Level 5 ILM or ODM. (CMI accredited)
Information about the role
This role will be scheduled to work Monday to Thursday 7:30pm to 6:30am, a total of 42 hours per week.
This role is based at our Coventry site which is located at Carbon 103, Siskin Park, Middlemarch Way, Coventry, CV3 4PW.
Our head office is located at Mulberry House, Woods Way Goring-by-Sea, West Sussex, BN12 4QY.

Remuneration Package
Basic salary £35-38,000

Notice period Three months
