NIGHT WAREHOUSE MANAGER
McCarthy’s are looking to recruit a Night Warehouse Manager to manage a busy warehouse operating 6 nights per week. This role covers the process of managing a team of 14 staff who pick customer orders overnight and load the lorries for an early departure, processing early morning deliveries incoming and ensuring a tidy warehouse at all times.
Man-management and good planning is a large part of the role ensuring things run smoothly, but the candidate will also be hands-on with the tasks their team carry out.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage a team of up to 14 staff (including 3 desk based)
· Control the night picking process and oversee all front-desk processes
· Ensure all orders are picked, checked and loaded both efficiently and accurately
· Organise resources to ensure a smooth night’s work and ensure that the warehouse is replenished if needed and is tidy throughout
· Monitor Health and Safety and ensure staff follow all documented procedures
· Plan staff rota’s and holidays and deal with absences in conjunction with the HR department
· Training of staff
SKILLS REQUIRED
· Managing a small team
· Able to communicate well and liaise between different areas of the business
· Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
· Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
· Competent computer skills
KEY INFORMATION
· Pay of £14.25 per hour, paid monthly via BACS
· Sun – Fri 7pm – 5am (including a 30minute paid break) flexibility required for meetings/front desk cover
A rota to allow 1 night a week off will be discussed at interview
· 28 days’ annual holiday (including company shut down days), 2 extra days annual leave after 2 years completed service
