What will you be doing as a Warehouse Supervisor?

  • Overseeing a small team of warehouse loaders
  • Motivate and manage the team to achieve/exceed on performance
  • Effective management of resources to achieve KPI’s; cost, quality, service and absence
  • Conduct regular individual reviews and where necessary agree an improvement plan
  • Process control of orders, loading/tipping of vehicles including a returns operation
  • Aid and assist with the development & continuous improvement for all warehouse colleagues and processes
  • Daily reporting to both the warehouse and transport management systems
  • Ensuring high standards are met in line with Ikea’s quality processes
  • Responsible for loading standards and ensuring vehicles are safe and secure to avoid damage during transit
  • Ensure Safe Systems of Work processes are followed in the line with site Health and Safety regulations

Relevant skills and experience as a Transport Supervisor:

  • Previous experience in supervisory role within warehousing is essential
  • LLOP/Counter Balance/Reach Truck/PPT Licenses are desirable
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office and the ability to use the warehouse and transport management systems
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally
  • Positive and flexible approach
  • Able to work on own initiative and comfortable in working to deadlines
  • Physically able to assist in the movement of goods which may include bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and lifting in line with Health and Safety regulations
