Job description

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for day to day operations of a 45,000 sq. ft. distribution center, serving all of Sonora Foods' customers and suppliers. They will setup and manage systems that implement safe, efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and shipping of goods, and execute outstanding and predictable service both to customers and suppliers.

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for inventory, lot code, and location accuracy across materials and finished goods, as well as continuous improvement of warehouse operations. The candidate is a strong planner and communicator, someone who is hands on, and who develops strong relationships within their team and with peers in the management team.

Above all, they are motivated by doing the right thing, both for the customer, employees, and the company. Your goal will be to ensure a safe environment, and increase operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain standards of health and safety, food safety and security in the work environment.
  • Plan and manage warehouse operations according to the company's strategic objectives.
  • Co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, put-away, pick, and shipment of goods.
  • Ensure data and inventory accuracy in Sonora's ERP system, and WMS.
  • Guide, develop, and motivate warehouse staff of 8-10 people.
  • Manage warehouse layout, bin locations, and zones to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
  • Co-ordinate and enforce operational policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes.

Qualifications

  • Applied knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in warehouse and logistics management.
  • Strong people and planning skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of general business computer software, and aptitude to learn new software applications.
  • Degree or diploma in a supply chain or related is an asset.
  • A valid Forklift Truck License is an asset.
