Objectives
- Organisation of the premises and personnel that consist of Beckford #1 Warehouse and Beckford #2 Holding.
- Day to day site compliance including, but not limited to; Health & Safety, COSHH, fire regulations, facilities management and general safe working practices.
- Management of the Beckford team and highlighting any personnel, training or any other issues to the Head of Engineering.
- Attend project meetings and use systems to check for new orders and amendments of stock hire updates.
- Work alongside PKL Fleet for clear direction of the team and checking stock levels as requested.
- Controlling all incoming and outgoing hires in line with demand for cleaning and engineering at Beckford and PKL.
Typical Duties
- Leading, motivating and managing the Beckford team on a day to day basis; delegating and controlling tasks; supervise and correct quality issues; communicate all information relevant to their position at PKL – keeping them aware of the bigger picture by briefing them face to face each day.
- Define training requirements and arrange training as required for them, complete staff appraisals.
- Planning well in advance the collation of equipment for delivery and how to deal with collections of larger hires specifying early to other operational managers what additional assistance may be required.
- Working with the Beckford Warehouse Supervisor to muster equipment for hires, whether that be standalone equipment or for units one week in advance and provide required paperwork to Fleet. All equipment for standalone hire is to be inspected for quality of complete ancillaries, cleanliness, completed commissioning paperwork.
- Oversee the day to day equipment engineering demand for Kit Heaven (Beckford), liaising with Kit Heaven PKL and Fleet.
- Liaise with Transport for incoming and out going demand and the impacts on Beckford yard movements and storage.
- Ensuring that Kit Heaven receives equipment in a timely manner that gives sufficient time to prepare equipment, in alignment with the stipulated process. To provide equipment in good time for the Quay.
- Ensuring that all equipment prepared for standalone hire has a completed Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).
- Ensuring that all barcode scanning and other equipment recording procedures are complied with. Maintain accurate picking boards and stock records in line with fleet controls.
- Allocating staff and assisting on cleaning stainless steel tables, sinks, racking for hires.
- Safe working practices are to be strictly managed by the Beckford Manager. This will include but not limited to; racking safety, forklift truck daily inspections, site safety including loading and unloading of units, personnel training and facilities.
- The efficient use of our internal storage space and racking to maximize space and stock holding.
- The management and control of all external spaces at Beckford, to include; approach roads, car parking, yard storage, paths, hazard marked areas, offices, the area known as Eddies Autos. All to be managed within the health and safety working practices laid out by PKL processes.
- Oversee the immediate process of checking all collections for completeness / dirty / missing standalone equipment. Making sure to pass details to Fleet and Kit Heaven PKL.
- As required, to participate in weekly Operations meetings and brief the Beckford team immediately following the meetings.
- Maintaining good relations with adjacent land and property owners, some of which have right of way through Beckford property. Resident needs are extremely important to the flexible working of the Beckford site.
