The Opportunity
Based at our Shrewsbury Warehouse facility and reporting into the Operations Manager the Warehouse Manager plays a vital role, responsible for the leadership of their department and team of warehouse colleagues who will be receiving, handling, storing and picking high volumes of customer orders for onwards delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to take full ownership of all site based warehousing operations as part of the site leadership team.

- Leadership - you must inspire and motivate your team to deliver an exceptional service to Suppliers, Customers and Internal Stakeholders
- Organisation - you will need to be highly organised to effectively and smoothly balance the various elements of the role, but also able to re-prioritise tasks depending on current priorities
- Relationship building - you will need to build and grow positive relationships with multiple client stakeholders as well as your direct reports and other colleagues
- Communication - you will need to lead, facilitate and participate in a variety of meetings and huddles, therefore you must be able to express your ideas, opinions and statements clearly and justify them with relevant data or reasoning
- Analytical - you will be highly observant and always looking to identify cause and effect in all aspects of the operations. You will use data, your own observation, testimony from colleagues and clients and more to analyse processes and identify areas for improvement or change
- Experience - this is a senior role and requires someone who can quickly settle and lead effectively. 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with both B2C and B2B elements, is essential.

People
- Support the recruitment, selection and evaluation processes and the ongoing development of a 12 person multiskilled team
- Lead and coach the team to deliver against Maxpack’s objectives and goals

Operational Process & Performance
- Keep the customer at the centre of everything, adding value to the customer experience
- Maintain a sustained focus on the continuous improvement of our services through monitoring the effectiveness of operational processes and the development of staff, procedures and technology.
Day to Day & Resource Utilisation
- Execute clear and accurate daily processes, routines, and reporting to ensure we are well managed within our operations
- Manage & plan resource in line with changing business activity levels
- Challenge and review the warehouse operations to ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of available resources
Inventory
- Ensure stock rotation is carried out and that shelf life stock is monitored and recorded in line with company procedures.
- Ensure that all Goods in and Goods out are checked for quality and condition and that company goods in and goods out procedures are followed.
- Ensure that a quarantine area for non-conforming product is maintained and a record kept in line with company procedures.
SHEQ
- Ensuring that the safety of our people and safe working practices remain at the top of our agenda
- Ensure all direct reports are trained to understand and comply with health & safety regulations whilst working safely to protect themselves and others in the depot / warehouse environment.
- Lead department Health and Safety ensuring monthly daily and monthly inspections are completed, ensuring best practice applied.
Business Reporting and Interaction
- Produce, monitor & present depot reports, statistics & updates as and when required, in various formats, primarily in Smartsheet (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Adhoc)
- To deal with customer queries and complaints within remit and to bring to a satisfactory conclusion as soon as possible
- Ensure that open communication channels are established and maintained with Managers, staff, customers, suppliers and service providers.
Customer Service
- Ensure that focus on the customer is maintained and find ways to meet customer needs converting business strategy into practical day to day activities
- Instil a customer service ethic throughout the warehouse and ensure that queries are dealt with efficiently
- Ensure customer service level meets company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary
Skills & Experience
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse operating systems, procedures, disciplines and reporting and control processes.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met and customer requirements achieved.
- A strong communicator with the confidence to ensure daily communication with the relevant departments
- Experience and understanding of using systems and processes to improve (service and efficiencies) and the ability to identify opportunities for service improvement.
- Process and Procedure focused, strong on compliance with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
- Extensive experience of Warehouse Management Systems, either as a Trainer, Superuser or as member of an Implementation Team
- A people focused individual that ensures plans are in place to make the operation a great place to work
