Job Type: Full-time, permanent role

Salary: £40,000 for the first 3 months, rising to £45K + Bonus following probation

Location: Grays, Essex

Due to our continued growth and success, we have a great opportunity to join our fast-growing team as a Warehouse Manager.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the company’s warehouse team and to safely and efficiently organise the warehouse activities for receipt, storage, and despatch of our warehoused goods. You will have overall accountability in managing, and developing the warehouse team.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Recruitment, selection, orientation, and training of warehouse team employees as needed.
  • Strategic warehouse management in compliance with our company policies and vision.
  • Ensuring accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts, reconciliations, and audits.
  • Overseeing operations, including receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance.
  • Initiation, enforcement, and coordination of optimal operational policies and procedures.
  • Setting up freezer layout and communal parts layout to ensure efficient and logical space utilisation.
  • Liaising with Quality to maintain health and safety standards, hygiene, and security.
  • Managing stock control and reconciling with our company data system.
  • Implementing and enforcing safety procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and providing feedback to team members.
  • Analysing operational data to identify areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.
  • Monitoring and controlling warehouse operating expenses and budgets.

The Person:

The right person will:

  • Have proven experience in a leadership / management role in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics environment.
  • Have a thorough understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfilment, and shipping processes.
  • Have strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Have a good level of numerical and literacy skills.
  • Be thorough, with good attention to detail.
  • Have experience in and be skilled in good customer service and administration.
  • Be able to accept, reflect and take action on feedback and work well under pressure.
  • Have the ability to work cooperatively with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to analyse data, generate reports, and make data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
  • Knowledge of lean principles or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.

This role is offered with a competitive package of a salary of £40,000 per annum for the first three months, rising to £45,000 (with bonus structure) following successful completion of probation, plus pension scheme and holiday offer.
