Position Overview:
As a Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the company's warehouse facility. Your primary goal will be to ensure the efficient and safe handling, storage, and distribution in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. You will collaborate with other departments to optimize productivity and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management:
· Plan, organize, and direct daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, inventory management, and shipping of Paint.
· Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
· Monitor and optimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and material handling equipment to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency.
· Establish and maintain inventory control systems to track stock levels, reconcile discrepancies, and minimize inventory holding costs.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
· Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including providing coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.
· Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, employee engagement, and adherence to safety practices.
· Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring the appropriate allocation of resources and workload management.
· Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide updates, and address any concerns or issues.
Safety and Compliance:
· Implement and enforce safety procedures, including handling hazardous materials, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and emergency response protocols.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding the storage, transportation, and disposal of chemicals.
· Experience with quality management systems preferred (ISO 9000)
· Coordinate with environmental health and safety personnel to maintain necessary permits, licenses, and documentation.
· Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, address non-compliance, and promote a safe working environment.
Inventory Management and Logistics:
· Develop and maintain accurate inventory records, utilizing inventory management software or systems.
· Coordinate with procurement and production departments to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and manage stock replenishment.
· Collaborate with logistics providers to arrange inbound and outbound shipments, monitor transportation activities, and track delivery schedules.
· Optimize supply chain processes, including order fulfillment, picking, packing, and shipping, to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
Continuous Improvement:
· Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and productivity enhancements within the warehouse operations.
· Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
· Implement lean management principles and methodologies to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
· Drive initiatives for automation, digitalization, and technology adoption to enhance warehouse capabilities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
· Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in warehouse management, preferably in the paint industry or a chemical environment.
· Strong knowledge of chemical handling, storage, and transportation regulations preferred (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
· Familiarity with inventory management software and warehouse management systems.
· Prior experience of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) in ERP system.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational processes and procedures.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3-6 months
Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
