Job description

Role Objective:

To assist the Warehouse Supervisor in running a safe and efficient operation in the WMS controlled Warehouse. To ensure policy and procedures are followed, any targets/KPIs are achieved/exceeded and costs stay within budget.

Summary of Role Responsibilities:


  • Ensure compliance to all health & safety and environmental legislation. Investigate and record details of accidents, dangerous occurences and near mis incidents. Report to HSE where applicable.
  • Assist in controlling an area within the Operational Team
  • Ensure area of responsibility is completed within defined time scales
  • Assist in the management of the operational team, including, back to work interviews, KPI and performance reviews, P&L control
  • Assist in the development and improvement of working practices to ensure continuous improvement in operational performance
  • Assist the Management team to ensure all required training for operational teams is completed, updated and recorded where appropriate
  • All stock is stored in line with the WMS at all times
  • General housekeeping within the warehouse, ensure all work areas are clean, safe and tidy
  • Maintain costs in line with departmental budget
  • System compliance - WMS (Manhattan)
  • Management of equipment, where necessary liaising with maintenance engineers to facilitate equipment repair
  • Any other duties as and when required

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of a WMS controlled Warehouse
  • Experience working in a Warehouse and/or Distribution Centre
  • Team Leader skills, leading and motivating staff.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety and environmental legislation

Desirable

  • Previous experience of Manhattan/MLS

SKILLS/ ABILITIES

  • Attention to detail
  • Leads by example
  • Excellent communication skills- written and verbal
  • IT skills – MS Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to co-ordinate works and allocates resources amongst team
  • Commitment – sees the job through to completion
