This role leads and manages the warehousing team and functions at Glendronach, Benriach and Glenglassaugh. Managing the cask filling on new make from all 3 distilleries (~3.5mLA) as well as scheduling reracks, cask sampling and tanker movements between the sites and the bottling plant at Newbridge.
- Lead all warehousing activities across BRDO sites.
- Lead continuous improvement activities in warehousing in collaboration with site teams.
- In collaboration with the Distilleries Manager develop and implement a warehousing strategy.
- In collaboration with the Distilleries Manager, drive warehouse expansion plans.
- Support the Distilleries Warehouse SAP team to ensure compliant administration of stock.
- Plan and manage all warehouse movements.
- Lead and manage warehouse stock checks.
- Provide leadership and vision to the warehouse team in order to meet short and long-term operating objectives.
- Manage and allocate resources across the sites to ensure demand is met.
- Supports accurate and timely government and compliance reporting as well as supporting work with government bodies including site visits.
- Builds company image by collaborating with employees, customers, government, and community organizations, following, and enforcing ethical business practices.
- Ensuring safety is the primary concern in all we do.
- Drive safety initiatives. Ensure that safe working conditions exist and that all programs and policies are effectively implemented and practiced.
- Ensure compliance with BF quality policies, standards, and systems.
- In collaboration with the Distilleries Manager and Distilleries Production Manager set the standards for reliability and consistency of product quality, governmental compliance, employee safety, and environmental impact.
- Support the Distilleries Manager in the review and evaluation of operating practices and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency of warehousing operations.
- Lead the plan for warehouse expansion in response to increasing production levels.
- Lead the way to build an environment that is inclusive of everyone, driving accountability at all levels and valuing the contributions of all employees.
- Promote a shared understanding of organisational values, operating principles, and company culture to support the achievement of business goals.
- Implements strategic development for the teams.
- Drive workforce development to meet business objectives.
- Provides effective timely communication to all team members.
- In collaboration with the Distilleries Manager lead the development of the operating and capital budgets for warehousing.
- Collaborate with the Distilleries Manager and Finance Controller to develop the annual operating budget.
- Provide leadership and direction with the warehousing team to meet or exceed the operational budget.
- Support the Distilleries Manager to develop short and long-term capital plans and major maintenance improvement projects in warehousing.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related field with experience in warehouse/distillery leadership roles, leading and developing people and teams.
- Equivalent education and experience combinations will be considered.

- Demonstrated understanding of distillery operations and equipment, continuous improvement methodologies, as well as quality, safety, and environmental practices.
- Demonstrated inclusive leadership and excellent communication skills. Ability to build and sustain excellent business relationships internally and externally.
- Strong business, financial, and analytical acumen.
- Ability to diagnose manufacturing issues and problem solve solutions to increase operational efficiencies and cost control.
- NEBOSH.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration with leadership experience in the distilling industry.
- Working user knowledge of SAP-ERP applications in a manufacturing environment.
