Job Summary:
To lead a team of 5 warehouse/van driver operatives and 3 HGV drivers in providing a dedicated and professional service to customers. Ensure strict deadlines are met and company standards are maintained. Work with managers to help drive business forward.
This is a very hands on role that will involve lots of manual handling of building products such as bags of plaster, plasterboards etc...
Job Responsibilities:
· To ensure daily FLT checks are carried out and defects reported and actioned
· To mentor, lead and motivate the branch operations team
· To ensure vehicles are loaded safely and drivers have all necessary documentation
· To manage warehouse team to ensure products are picked accurately
· To ensure daily stock checks are carried out and improve accuracy
· To ensure Goods In are unloaded safely and checked accurately against our PO and supplier delivery note and stored correctly and safely
· To manage driver team to ensure staff are utilised and assist with other duties when in the branch
· To ensure H&S is prioritised and housekeeping standards are maintained
· To carry out periodic LGV and HGV daily walk-round checks
· To plan deliveries using route planning system, use Tacho download system and ensure fleet service schedule is complied with in Operation Manager’s absence
· To ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to
· To be pro-active in seeking to improve current processes and procedures
· To help and assist with other duties at the branch as requested
Job Requirements:
· Minimum 3 years’ experience within a warehouse and distribution environment
· Supervisory / people management experience
· Counterbalance FLT licence essential and “Bendi” FLT licence desirable
· PC literate
· An understanding of HGV rules and regulations including Driving Hours and Working Time Directive
· Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
