About The Role
As our Depot Manager, you will be responsible for the operational performance for one of our depots and you will play an integral part in ensuring excellent customer service is delivered to each and every one of our customers. You will set and maintain high standards from operational policies, transport legislation, health & safety and people management.
You will promote a happy and productive working environment and support is available through a District and Depot Management team, who you will work closely with on a regular basis and from central teams including Quality, Commercial and People.
- Salary: £35.000-£42,000 per annum
- Hours: Monday-Friday (37.5 hours per week)
- Job type: Full time / Permanent contract
- Location: Unit 200 Focal Point, Fleming Way, Crawley, RH10 9DF
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Ensure the depot remains legal and compliant at all times
- Effective people management and setting performance expectations
- Follow HR processes & procedures such as investigations, disciplinary meetings etc
- Efficient performance management in a fair and consistent way
- Delegate and supervise daily tasks, being accountable for any issues
- Be responsible for both self-employed and employed drivers working from your site
- Manage driver expectations and address any issues
- Motivate and support the wellbeing and development of all direct reports
- Update and submit reports on a daily and weekly basis
Key Deliverables:
- Performance on agreed KPIs
- Effective leadership with a motivated workforce
- Management of the budget for the Depot including cost to deliver

- CPC holder
- Understanding and ability to manage budgets effectively
- Understand all relevant Health and Safety legislation
- Ability to interpret and analyse data and produce management reports
