Job description
Following a move to our new Head Office in High Wycombe we now need a new Warehouse Lead to ensure we optimise our warehouse and manage inventory effectively.
This is a hands on role where you will be
- Optimsing our warehouse to support the growth of our global customers
- Liaising with our Finance and Customer Experience teams to ensure all inventory is accounted for
- Managing stock levels
- Picking and packing, daily picks and staging in line with each individual customer’s requirements
- Labelling and packing goods ready for dispatch
- Shipping orders on our ERP system on same/correct day
- Using internet-based courier systems to book and arranges collections.
- Counting and quality checking items received and matching to delivery advice
- Ensuring goods are unpacked and put away and correctly located
- Performing daily cycle counts and investigating and offering resolution to any discrepancies
- Being vigilant and supporting health and safety initiatives
- Loading and unloading outbound and inbound inventory, using the equipment when needed
- Maintaining existing and suggesting new Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to measure performance and demonstrate continual improvement in all areas of responsibility
- Managing assembly orders and kitting for relevant SKUs
To undertake this role you will demonstrate
- At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse / inventory role
- A solid understanding of warehouse management systems and their use.
- An understanding of Lean principles, and a willingness to make best practice recommendations.
- Experience of using an ERP system to manage inventory
- That you are able to lift and move inventory with and without the assistance of equipment.
- The ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
- Basic maths skills
- Experience in using Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel etc)
- Proven ability to understand and follow written procedures and specifications.
- The ability to inspect and recognize defective products
- The ability to use weight scales, labellers, tape machines, hand lift trucks and FLT’s
- The ability to work both on your own and as part of a team.
- The ability to co-ordinate your work and that of your colleagues
As part of a small team, you must also be willing to complete additional training to support / cover for other teams during peak periods and holiday periods.
