Job description
This is a great opportunity in Westway Distribution Centre to join the team as a Warehouse Control Room Operative. If you can build strong working relationships and effectively communicate, alongside utilising your IT knowledge to support, this could be the role for you.
The Role
As a Warehouse Control Room Operative your role will be to provide support to the Operational team using the IT systems that control the Distribution Centre. A vital part of your role will be to build close working relationships with our in-house Knapp Engineering Team, to provide effective communications in the event of breakdowns and MHE issues. This supports the swift resolution of mechanical issues, which is critical in supporting the DC to receive and dispatch products effectively and efficiently.
You will be working the night shift (Sun – Thurs 22:00 – 06:00) but will need to have a flexible and adaptable approach to providing cover for overtime / bank holidays if required.
About You
With a proven track record in working within distribution, you thrive in a challenging busy environment and work well under pressure and can independently prioritise your workload. You’re approachable with great communication skills – both written and oral - and you’ll also have excellent computer skills, preferably with knowledge of High Jump and Microsoft office suite. You will also need to understand and have some experience in a DC environment with knowledge of process flows and Warehouse Management Systems.
