Gate Gourmet is the world's largest independent provider of catering services for airlines and are the core business behind gategroup, whose eleven associated brands offer customers a comprehensive scope of products and services for virtually any on-board need. We provide more than 200 million meals a year to our 270-plus customers at some 120 airport locations around the globe.
We are currently looking to hire part-time Warehouse Assistants to work at Waverley Railway Station. As a Warehouse Assistants, you will be responsible for accepting deliveries from suppliers, ensuring goods received correspond to delivery notes and to quality specifications. You will be looking after stock control and order picking from fridges and freezers. Additionally, you will also be responsible for the cleaning of all crockery, cutlery & carts returned from trains. The relevant training will be provided to you upon your commencement of employment.
- To be responsible for the accurate issuing of goods for all departments
- To ensure that all the goods issued are placed onto either pallets or in cages in a neat and safe manner
- To ensure that any goods issued to all departments are accompanied by an internal delivery note
- To be responsible for the stacking and storage of all goods in the Unit into designated areas in a manner whereby they will not cause injury or obstruction to any person
- To ensure that all stock is rotated efficiently and effectively
- To ensure that all stock checks are carried out as and when required
- To ensure all crockery & cutlery is cleaned to the correct standard to be able to be reloaded onto trains
- To ensure all carts are cleaned to the correct standard for repacking
- To ensure all carts are repacked to the correct standard
- To ensure that all the goods issued are placed onto either pallets or in cages in a neat and safe manner
- To ensure that any goods issued to all departments are accompanied by an internal delivery note
- To be responsible for the stacking and storage of all goods in the Unit into designated areas in a manner whereby they will not cause injury or obstruction to any person
- To ensure that all stock checks are carried out as and when required
- To ensure that all equipment is correctly used, and any damage or faults are reported
- To ensure that all protective clothing is worn correctly
- To ensure that all standards of cleanliness are within the guidelines laid down in the company procedures
- To ensure that ISO 2000 standards are maintained
- To maintain company standards on personal hygiene
- To report on accidents, near misses and hazardous occurrences in line with company procedures and take preventative action where necessary
- To attend training as and when required
- To assume any other responsibilities as directed by the company representative
- Basic computer work
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educated to a minimum of GCSE level
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment preferably in a similar role
- Food hygiene, security, H&S experience preferred but not essential
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work with numbers
- Ability to work efficiently using own initiative to resolve issues
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate
- Proactive and positive/flexible attitude
- Computer Literate
- Must demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism always
