JOB DESCRIPTION
Warehouse and Logistics Manager based in Braintree, Essex, UK
Sunroad Equipment is a French Family Group, (turnover of €180m last year and 650 employees) leader in the field of recreational vehicle market in France with a network of retail shops, body workshops, manufacturer of panel van equipment, providing rental and finance services. Sunroad Equipment’s strategy is to grow geographically in Europe and has just completed the set-up of a subsidiary and a warehouse in the UK. We are seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join our energetic team and help us achieve our ambitious plan in the RV sector.
Overall responsibilities
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for all activities linked to our recently acquired UK warehouse. This includes liaising with our Head Office Sales and Procurement teams in France, monitoring storage, organising distribution of goods to all UK customers, negotiating with UK transport companies. He/she will be responsible for the inventory as well as warehouse staff and will ensure that all Health and Safety measures are in place. He/she will report to the Ops Director UK.
Skills: Proven record of working experience as a Logistics Manager. Record of successful distribution and logistics management. Demonstrate ability to lead and manage staff. Proficient with logistics and ERP softwares. Excellent analytical problem solving and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
Qualifications: degree or higher national diploma in logistics, supply chain management, business management or transport management. Ability to speak French would be a bonus.
Main responsibilities in more detail
1) RESPONSABLE FOR LOGISTICS AND INVENTORY
- He /She will strategically plan and manage logistics and warehouse
- He/she will direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
- He/she will keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels (using SAP ERP)
- He/she will arrange, catalogue goods, plan routes and process shipments
- He/she will meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets established internally (ie negotiation with transport companies)
- He/she will be fully responsible for the inventory process, implementation and reporting
- The goal is to manage the entire order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability
2) RESPONSABLE FOR DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS
- He/she will strategically plan transportation
- He/she will keep track of delivery times
- He/she will optimise deliveries in order to maximize transport cost reductions.
- He/she will negotiate shipping and supplier costs.
- He/she will oversee the returns of goods to the warehouse
3) MAN MANAGEMENT
- He/she will hire, train and manage warehouse staff
- He/she will coordinate staff scheduling and time cards.
- He/she will comply with Human Resources processes.
- He/she will oversee workplace safety standards and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
4) CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS
- He/she will resolve any arising customer complaints linked to transport whilst operating within the established processes
- He/she will liaise with the Sales Administrator(s) and/or Technical Service Team on actions taken to ensure customer satisfaction.
5) LOGISTICS COORDINATION OF MARKETING EVENTS & SHOWS
- He/she will coordinate the logistics for shows and events. (Preparation of pallets, set up of displays with merchandise, stocks and other marketing tools, displays, catalogues etc.)
- He/she will organise the return of the above in the warehouse, ensure that stock movements are made and that goods and marketing support are returned and stocked adequately in designed areas, ready for the next shows.
6) TOOLS MAINTENANCE & CONSUMABLES
- He/she will be responsible for all warehouse equipment (forklifts, racking, lights, alarm system etc.)
- He/she will ensure that all tools are working in good order and are regularly maintained.
- He/she will buy consumables and packaging needed, in line with company recommendations.

Salary: £33,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
