The Oxford Food Hub (OFH) is at the centre of surplus food redistribution in Oxfordshire, tackling food poverty and reducing carbon emissions by reducing food waste.
Due to the growth of the charity we are now seeking a Warehouse and Charity Coordinator to join our team and help shape the services we provide to charities across Oxfordshire.
We are seeking to employ someone full-time (40 hours per week) on a permanent basis, at our Botley Hub. Reporting directly to the CEO, with supervision from an Operations Manager, we offer a salary of £27,000 pro rata , 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and 4% Employer Pension contribution.
JOB PURPOSE
The Warehouse and Charity Coordinator role is key to the smooth running of OFH and maintaining our excellent reputation across Oxfordshire.
The Warehouse and Charity Coordinator helps coordinate activities in our warehouse in Botley. They organise volunteer drivers, and volunteers who sort surplus food in the warehouse, are responsible for managing stock and help ensure that the food hub is a safe place to work and visit.
The Warehouse and Charity Coordinator works closely with Charities and local organisations to understand demand, then arranges deliveries and collections of food based on their needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Support the day-to-day running of operations within the warehouse, complying with health & safety, food hygiene and manual handling requirements
● Build effective relationships with our existing charity partners and food suppliers to maximise the effectiveness of OFH
● Manage the volunteer rota to ensure sufficientcover is available each day
● Organise and support volunteer drivers and those based at the warehouse to ensure appropriate tasks are allocated and that instruction and support is provided as required
● Effectively manage stock levels, including fresh, chilled and frozen produce
● Accurately take receipt of food donations and deliveries, correctly logging, storing and managing stock levels
● Prepare stock for dispatch, working closely with volunteers to ensure that deliveries are completed correctly and promptly
● Prepare vehicles for deliveries, ensuring they are correctly and safely loaded
● Complete collections and deliveries as and when required
● Deputise for the Operations Manager as required

Experience and Qualifications
Essential
● Experience working with community groups, charities, and/or volunteers
● Good IT Skills and willingness to learn new systems
● Understanding of confidentiality laws and GDPR guidelines
● Experience of working in a team
● Clean driving licence and ability to drive transit-sized vans
Desirable
● Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and/or data management software
● Level 2 Food Safety, First Aid, or other training related to food, waste disposal or supervising volunteers
