We are currently recruiting FOH & Bar Staff to join our Layered Reality team at The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience (http://www.thewaroftheworldsimmersive.com).
Layered Reality™ are the leaders in immersive entertainment experiences - with powerful storytelling, cutting-edge technology and outstanding customer service. We combine live theatre (actors, movie-scale sets, and special effects) together with the latest digital technology (virtual reality, projection mapping and holograms) plus physical sensations (sight, sound, smell, touch and movement) to create a unique immersive experience that is truly memorable.
We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to help bring our Layered Reality world to life! We want fun, dynamic, and friendly personalities to join our team. You will be self-motivated with a can-do attitude whilst ensuring we deliver and maintain high standards of costume throughout this cutting-edge experience. On a daily basis, this role will make sure that the team are in the correct costumes at all times, ensuring that our guests are completely immersed in the world that is created from the moment they step inside our doors.
Scope & Responsibilities
Working within the BOH Department you will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning all costumes worn in the experience. Predominantly you'll be sourcing materials, washing & ironing costumes and conducting minor repairs and alterations. You will further be responsible for ensuring that all team members follow the correct costume standards and have been signed off before going on stage. This role will also support other BOH teams where required.
Background & Experience
You will be a highly self-motivated individual, with previous experience in theatre productions. You will have significant costume experience within a theatre or similar environment, demonstrating excellent sewing skills (both by hand and with machine), and the ability to work with a range of fabrics and textiles.
Desired Attributes
- Minimum two years’ experience as a Wardrobe Assistant.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Confident both working as part of a team and independently.
- Flexible (evening and weekend work will be required).
- Conversational English.
