Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the team on Butterley Ward as a Housekeeper. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, highly motivated and who wants to make a difference to our patients’ experience. This person will demonstrate the values and personal qualities that support the DCHS way of working. The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team and be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities services, over 7 days in the ward area; ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment. The post-holder will demonstrate professional, well-established and effective communication skills, both internal and external to the organisation. Butterley Ward delivers care, rehabilitation and further assessments to our elderly population. Ensuring that the patients nutrition and hydration needs are being met , utilising an electronic system for ordering meals and recording fluid and nutritional intake. Ensuring that the ward areas are cleaned and tidied to a high standard meeting strict infection control standards Ordering of Linen and mattresses Effective communication with other team members and, most importantly, the patients. Although previous experience is desirable, it is not essential as full training will be provided Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire. We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.
