Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled
- Prepare surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, or adhesive
- Mix and apply mortar or adhesive to secure tiles in place
- Cut tiles to fit around obstacles and create desired patterns
- Align and level tiles using tools such as levels, straightedges, and squares
- Apply grout between tiles and remove excess grout
- Clean and polish tiled surfaces
- Ensure accuracy and precision in tile placement
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of tile installation techniques and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or design plans
- Proficient in using tile cutting tools and equipment
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Physical stamina to stand, kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Good time management skills to meet project deadlines
Note: Previous experience as a tile setter or completion of a tile setting apprenticeship program is preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week
