This role could be based in the Cardiff office (with the opportunity to work from home on some days each week in line with Christian Aid’s hybrid working approach) or homebased in Wales. This role is part-time, 24.5 hours a week.

About the role
An exciting role with the Christian Aid Wales team and working in close collaboration with the UK Comms function, the Media, Comms & Resources Officer for Wales helps to build greater awareness of, and support for, Christian Aid’s work through use of various media (news media, social media, website etc) and by producing high-quality and effective supporter communications & resources. Part of this role involves the coordination, development and publication of Christian Aid’s supporter resources which take into account Welsh language requirements and the Welsh context, including correcting and editing Welsh text/proof reading.
About you
Passionate about working alongside churches and others to inspire action to overcome global poverty, you will have a good understanding of the media, social, political, church and voluntary sector context in Wales and be comfortable with communicating creatively and appropriately in terms of language and tone to different church audiences. You will have substantial experience of media work, communications, journalism, public relations or equivalent, and a proven ability to harness a variety of media to increase awareness, interest & participation. You will also have experience of correcting and editing Welsh text and proof reading.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in spoken and written Welsh, as well as English.
