Job Title: Waiting List Officer

Trust Location: East Kent Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

About the Trust

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people. We also provide some specialist services for a wider population, including renal services in Medway and Maidstone and a cardiac service for all of Kent based at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Dealing with telephone calls to be passed onto the relevant waiting list coordinator

· Collecting outgoing post and taking to our post room

· Uploading waiting list request onto Sunrise

· Managing generic inbox and distributing messages to the correct person

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

· Previous admin experience

· Previous NHS experience

· NHS System Knowledge- PAS, EPR, Sunrise and Theatreman (desirable)
