Job description
We are fast paced environment, highly motivated team, looking for a Production Manager to join our growing team! Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the manufacturing and delivery of solar panels ensuring highest level of output and minimizing cost all with the dedication and cooperation and support of the team and other departments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for all production processes and teams within the plant.
- Ensures compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act to minimize injuries and promote awareness. Plan, review and execute production schedules for the job.
- Set, plan and meet all production targets and goals.
- Provides leadership in the production area (goal setting, reviews, ongoing feedback-formal and informal basis ensuring all reports are aware of what they required to achieve and how they are performing against targets.
- Works closely with Operations Manager to ensure proper allocation of all resources to meet customer needs through: optimal forecasting, production planning, scheduling and ordering or materials.
- Coordinate with maintenance department regarding the scheduling of plant shutdowns, supporting preventative maintenance programs.
- Develop, revise and or implement SOPs for production and ensure compliance and adhered to at all times.
- Identify opportunities and lead efforts to drive continuous improvement.
- Develops and or monitor relevant KPIs against targets to maintain an insight on production performance, make any necessary recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness,
- Maximize (OEE) Overall
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- College Diploma or other post-secondary education with preference for Bachelors Degree.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of production experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as a production supervisor at manufacturing plant
- Demonstrated experience with Lean Six Sigma and 5S methodologies required.
- Proven experience with continuous improvement, budgeting, reporting and production standards.
- Proven leadership to successfully lead a team.
- Ability to work in a fast paced changing, flexible environment.
- Highly analytical, familiarity with OEE reports, labour and material variances.
- Strong problem solving
- Exceptional organizational, time management skills with attention to detail
- Experience with production planning, controls and instrumentation
- Must be available during off hours for emergencies.
- Ability to lift up 50 lbs.
- Hand-eye co-ordination; manual dexterity
- Standing/Walking/Bending and Lifting for 8-12 hours
