An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Waiting List Co-Ordinator to join our established team here at Gateshead maintaining the elective waiting lists.
The successful candidate will need excellent organisational/communication skills including an outstanding telephone manner as well as excellent keyboard skills, be competent in microsoft packages and be able to demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality. Medical terminology would be advantageous.
This post would be suitable for applicants who enjoy working as part of a busy team. The role requires daily interaction with patients as well as other hospital departments so good communication is essential as well as a patient centered approach.
Ideal candidates will have previous relevant NHS experience in a secretarial/admin role and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of how to manage the challenges that this role can bring.
The post holder will manage and prioritise their own workload on a daily basis and use their initiative and discretion to manage the competing priorities. The ability to work well under pressure is essential.
It is anticipated that the successful candidates will be required to work 9am-5pm 3 days per week (days to be discussed and agreed at interview) and will be based at the QEH site - although may at times be required to work from home. You will need to be flexible to the needs of the service and be committed to high quality patient care
