Job description
As a company, we look for enthusiastic, friendly, and personable team members who have a passion for great service and show a dedication to the smaller details. Experience in a premium-casual restaurant is highly desirable, but we believe a warm personality and keen organisational skills are equally as important.
We are recruiting fixed-term Wait Staff for our restaurants in St Helier, St Brelade, and Gorey, typically for a period of six to nine months. Roles begin February to April 2023.
This role has a basic hourly rate of £12.74, plus an additional 6.12% to cover annual leave, giving a total hourly rate of £13.52 per hour. JPRestaurants offer 40-hour-per-week contracts, giving a gross salary of £2,343 per month.
All overtime is paid, and employees participate in our Team Incentive Scheme, with bonus payments of up to 10% (or more) of salary dependent on restaurant trade and individual performance.
Our employees also have access to a generous benefits package, including:
It's important to say that we've moved away from tips, and for good reason: our team's remuneration is written into contracts and bonus schemes, and isn't reliant on gratuities - for more information go to https://jprestaurants.com/news/living-wage-employers
This is a permanent, full-time role (with minimum, contracted hours of an average of 40 hours per week across the month). Our teams are working up to 50 hours per week during busy periods, with all overtime paid.
A work-life balance is important to everyone in the business, and we strive to ensure that everyone works a 5-day week on a regular basis.
Accommodation:
The Company can arrange live-in accommodation for those moving to Jersey, either above our some of our restaurants, or with accommodation partners. The accommodation in Jersey typically ranges from £750-£800 per month for a single room, to £1,500 per month for a one-bedroom flat.
Right to work:
Applicants without UK, Irish, or Jersey nationality (or without EU Settled Status) can apply for this role, and JPRestaurants would apply for a work permit for successful candidates.
Our approach:
Our aim is for customers to leave wanting to return – and recommending us to their friends and family. With our customer-first approach, we are clear and transparent about what we offer and what customers can expect, and we are constantly listening to feedback from our customers and team members on how we can improve further.
Established in 1946 as a small family-owned studio pottery, Jersey Pottery grew to become one of the Island’s busiest and most popular tourist attractions in the 1980s. In the early 1960s a coffee bar was introduced to cater to tourists visiting the ceramic factory and showroom. The original coffee bar was the beginning of JPRestaurants, which has now become one of the leading restaurant and catering businesses in Jersey, serving thousands of customers daily with fresh, local and innovative food.
JPRestaurants has invested in digitalisation to drive excellence, enhance customer service and build a better working environment for its workforce. Our team has the opportunity to work and develop skills in a hospitality environment backed by a world-class technology infrastructure and innovative working practices.
We are also mindful of our role as a local business and look to work for the benefit of our community and environment through careful management of our suppliers, good working conditions and initiatives to support others less fortunate than us.
