The Ebrington Hotel is now seeking to recruit a Waiter/Waitress for their premises, Ebrington Square, Derry-Londonderry:

Waiter/Waitress – Job Details

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Start date: TBC

Salary: Competitive

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Greet guests and take their orders promptly and accurately, demonstrating an excellent knowledge of the menu and any specials.

· Provide recommendations and suggestions to guests, based on their preferences and dietary requirements.

· Ensure all food and beverages are served in a timely and efficient manner, using correct serving techniques.

· Ensure guests' special requests and needs are met promptly and effectively, liaising with kitchen and other hotel staff as necessary.

· Accurately process guest payments, ensuring all bills are settled correctly and promptly.

· Ensure the cleanliness and presentation of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and table settings.

· Attend to guest complaints and resolve them effectively, ensuring guest satisfaction.

· Complete all opening and closing duties, including preparing the dining area for service, cleaning equipment and workstations, and restocking supplies.

· Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene standards, including food safety and handling procedures.

Essential Criteria

· Previous experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a waiter/waitress in a busy restaurant or hotel environment

· Customer service skills: Ability to provide exceptional customer service and create a positive guest experience

· Team player: Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and management

· Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order taking, food and drink service, and billing

· Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed by the hotel.

Desirable Criteria

· Background in a busy hotel environment
