We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Data Science and Experimentation to lead our data-driven decision-making efforts. As the VP of Data Science and Experimentation, you will be responsible for defining and executing our data strategy, building and leading a highly skilled data science team, and driving insights that inform our product roadmap and business strategy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute experiments, develop predictive models, and build data products that facilitates growth and improve customer experiences.
What you'll be doing:
- Advocate and evangelize experimentation as a way of working, ensuring that everyone in the company can make data-driven decisions fast and at scale
- Promote an experimentation culture and identify ways to support the adoption of experimentation across the organization through a company-wide experimentation program
- Lead and mentor a team of highly skilled analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to build a highly advanced experimentation platform
- Ensure data best practices and play a critical role in building a data-driven culture throughout the entire organization
- Partner with the technology leadership team to create a long-term vision and develop a roadmap of data science projects
- Develop new capabilities to deliver business solutions applying data science algorithms
- Work with cross-functional partners and executives in the product, engineering, commercial, finance, and marketing to define and achieve business goals, and to build data-informed business strategies and roadmaps.
- Determine how to leverage data science, machine learning, and other analytical techniques to improve product features and capabilities. Provider leadership on how to leverage data and data expertise to improve the customer experience.
- Serve as a champion for data science and informed decision-making at all levels of the company. Make analytical techniques approachable and understandable to non-data scientists
Who you are:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields; eg. a PhD
- Many years of proven experience in a data science or analytics leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
- Demonstrated achievements in building and developing highly skilled data science teams, managing data science projects, and delivering impactful insights that influence business growth
- Strong proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, data mining, and data visualization techniques, with hands-on experience in at least one programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or Scala
- Proven ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations and communicate them effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Deep understanding of A/B testing and experiment design methodologies, with experience in designing and executing experiments to create product improvements and optimize customer experiences
- Comprehensive business insight, with experience in leveraging data insights to facilitate strategic decision-making and inform business strategy
- Experience working with big data technologies and familiarity with cloud-based data infrastructure and analytics tools (AWS and GCP)
- Expert leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build solid relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
