Are you an experienced Volunteer Services Coordinator looking for a new challenge? We have an amazing opportunity to join our Marie Curie team in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

Title: Volunteer Services Coordinator – Swansea and Neath Port Talbot

Salary: £24,620 – £27,350 per annum

Hours/Contract: 35 hours per week

Contract Type : Permanent

Based: Home based with an opportunity to work from our offices at Dafen, Llanelli or Pencoed, Bridgend

We’re looking for someone with a passion for volunteering and who has experience and understanding of the value volunteers can bring to supporting end of life care for people and their families and carers.

This is an exciting role for someone to work with operational and volunteering teams across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot to identify and support opportunities to develop new services to support a ‘Compassionate Cymru’ .

The successful candidate will support the delivery and coordination of the volunteer services including the management and supervision of volunteers, receiving referrals and matching volunteers with terminally ill people and/or their carers. Volunteer services could include our Helper and Companion Service; bereavement support; and supporting care homes, people with dementia and vulnerable groups.

The role will also be responsible for developing strong partnership networks with the community, community groups and organisations in the area in order to develop better end of life care for all.

  • Knowledge and experience of end of life care
  • Experience of working with and managing volunteers
  • Strong planning and operational service delivery skills
  • An understanding of the needs of different communities, including people with protected characteristics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A willingness to travel across West Wales and throughout Wales as necessary
  • Welsh language speaker would be an advantage
