Job description
Following an expansion in our integrated Voids & Lettings Service, we are seeking additional in house Multi skilled Trade Operatives to help continue and improve the service delivery of the empty Homes and homes under termination notice.
As a key member of our Empty Homes division, you will be part of a successful team responsible for repairs and refurbishment on properties within Swindon Borough Council’s housing stock.
Your next role
- Bringing your knowledge and skills in order to complete all aspects of repairs within the properties scope of works
- On time delivery of all works in line with Swindon Borough Council’s current re-let standards policy
- Identifying additional problems/faults and carrying out appropriate measures to correct them immediately
- Assisting with the clearance of belongings/waste from empty homes and disposal at the local recycling centre where a good level of fitness will be required
- Maintaining the highest level of professionalism both with other employees and with members of the public
- With an acute awareness and full understanding of Health and Safety, you will endeavour to complete your duties with efficiency and in a controlled safe manner
You will bring
- Fluency in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”)
- Either documented time served experience in the maintenance industry, a modern apprenticeship, form of craft apprenticeship or similar
- A full UK driving licence and a good geographical knowledge of the Swindon Borough area
