Our School Health Centre plays a vital role in supporting the pupils' health and welfare at the Blue Coat School. We are looking to employ an experienced and qualified Assistant to support the Matron. Duties will include administering first aid; providing pastoral support to the pupils; maintaining accurate medical records and informing staff as required of the pupils' medical, safeguarding and welfare needs.
The post includes membership of a Pension Scheme with a high employer contribution. Qualifications/Professional Development
- current Paediatric First Aid qualification is essential as a minimum
- skills and experience
- experience of working with and caring for children in KS1 and/or KS2, with an understanding of how to meet each child’s needs would be desirable
- effective communication and listening skills Knowledge
- sound understanding of safeguarding principles (full induction will be provided)
- understanding of early childhood development Personal attributes
- ability to form and maintain positive relationships
- sensitivity to others and the ability to work co-operatively
