We are seeking a passionate individual with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service and a passion for animal welfare to join our team of Visitor Hosts to work in our busy Rehoming Centre.
Our Visitor Host team must ensure that all visitors to our centre receive a warm and personalised welcome to Dog Trust Manchester. The visitor host is responsible for working with prospective adopters, assessing their suitability and matching them to dogs appropriate to their circumstances.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to show empathy to both people and animals. A strong team player, you'll have lots of energy teamed with a positive and proactive attitude, excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills. Experienced in working with or handling dogs would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and normally cares for around 14,000 dogs across its network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK and one in Dublin. Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy and will never put a healthy dog to sleep.
Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they are able to find a loving new home and the success of our centres wouldn't be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers; there is a real family-community within each of our centres. Come rain or shine, our team are out in all weathers to make sure the dogs have the best possible life. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our rehoming centres are the face of Dogs Trust and we pride ourselves on our staff providing the very best in customer service.
Please be aware that this position will require working at least two weekends a month, some late shifts (11am - 8pm) and occasional night shifts (5pm-8am). Your rota can require you to work on bank holidays. A full, manual driving licence is also essential.
