Job description

Virtual School PEP Apprentice (Slough Children First)

  • Salary: £21,443 - £22,191 (including local weighting)
  • Hours: Full time 37 hours per week
  • Contract: 18 month fixed term contract

Would you like the opportunity to gain a level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration whilst working and gaining valuable professional experience? And be an integral part of an organisation supporting and developing young people in Slough? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re offering an apprenticeship in Level 3 Business Administration, and we’ll be working with West Berkshire Training Consortium (WBTC) to deliver the course. It will last for at least 18 months.

The role will be based within our Outstanding Virtual School service and will be key in supporting the team to carry out and complete Personal Education Plans (PEP) for all the children we support. You’ll be the main source of contact for any PEP queries, keeping a track of all the PEPs required across the team and ensuring our system is maintained to provide accurate reporting data. And you’ll be expected to work from the office on a daily basis.

You’ll need a proactive and positive approach to developing the skills, behaviours and knowledge required for the successful completion of the apprenticeship, where you’ll be supported by our Virtual School team as well as WBTC.

If you’re looking for a new challenge and want to be part of an exciting journey to turn children’s services around in Slough then come and join us. In return, we can offer you:

  • Training and development opportunities
  • Agile working supported by technology
  • Flexible working policies
  • Friendly working environment and great colleagues.

Slough is one of the most diverse places in the country outside of London and a great place to live or work. In fact it's the best place to live or work according to a survey by Glassdoor. Pleasant environments, above average salaries and a lower cost of living, mean an increased quality of life for employees. We're also one of the most accessible places to be, nestled on the corner of the M25, M4 and M40, and less than 20 minutes by train to Central London.

Apply online

Please go to the Slough Children First website for more details about the post and to apply and submit your CV.

The deadline for submitted applications is 19 May 2023. And interviews are to be held at our office on Thursday 25 May 2023.

Good luck!
