Herefordshire Virtual School are seeking to appoint an Education Officer to work for Herefordshire Council and join a friendly and welcoming team of education professionals. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced teacher who can build good relationships with school and social care staff.
The post involves a high degree of efficient time-management and you will need to be an extremely organised individual, able to work independently and manage a caseload of children and young people based across a wide range of educational settings.
As a Virtual School Education Officer you will work to improve educational outcomes for care experienced children and young people. You will work closely with schools, parents/carers and the social care team to support our young people to access high quality education and to achieve their full potential. You will facilitate and review personal education plans and advise schools around educational progress and the best use of pupil premium spending. You will promote high expectations and should be able to demonstrate a background of successful working with vulnerable/SEN pupils.
You will be joining a team of committed professionals working to ensure that vulnerable children in Herefordshire are supported to reach their full potential. The hours are 25.9 a week and the post is a fixed term contract of a year with the potential to extend longer. There will be some travel involved, including out of county, but also the opportunity for a mix of office/home-based working.
