The Placement

Totem is rapidly expanding and to be able to offer our clients the best possible experience in the world of events, therefore we are looking for a production intern to join our team on a one-year contract. As a Video Production Intern for Totem’s London-based Team, you will be learning and developing alongside our experts, and gain hands-on experience that will include filming, editing, live streaming, post-production and delivery of various formats of corporate videos. The role will also include assisting on shoots and preparing and maintaining the kit. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • As part of the Backstage team, you will be filming, editing and live streaming a variety of corporate videos
  • Work closely with the senior creative teams
  • Work closely with other Video Editors and wider Production team to make sure you are working and learning to your best ability, meeting deadlines and quotas.
  • Edit content for all social platforms, to a high standard and with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Manage media and archiving of your footage and edits, as well as supporting this process across the department.
  • Assist shooting, lighting, broadcasting, and recording audio on location and in studio for in-house commissions and ad-hoc content, developing your skills in this area as required.
  • Learn to problem solve issues that arise during production and postproduction.
  • Look after the check in / out process of video equipment
  • Maintain the kit room in excellent order

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Proactive individual with excellent written and verbal English language
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge and general IT computer skills
  • Adept with using DSLR cameras for video-based content
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (Prem and AE)
  • Good understanding of the various aspects of a production workflow
  • Organised and have meticulous attention to detail, able to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours and excellent time management
  • Focussed and punctual with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to maintain high standards, with fast turnarounds
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player
  • Enjoys working within a tight-knit, collaborative team environment - is personable, fun to work with and enjoys working with a friendly team.

Additional Information

This is a one-year placement, with a fixed salary of £21,450. The ideal start date would be Monday 10th July 2023. The successful candidate would need to be able to regularly commute to our Islington based office in London. There may be the opportunity to gain a full-time position at Totem at the end of the internship, depending on need and performance within the role.
