The Role...
We are seeking a Video Editor to join our Film & Motion team in an exciting and fast-paced organisation looking to bring its products to life via web, social, email, and other marketing channels. The ideal editor will have a passion for taking on complex problems and designing elegant, simple solutions that surprise and delight users.
This role will work with our Head of Film to create rich visual graphics both independently and integrated with live action footage. The ideal candidate will a clear approach to editing, understanding pace is crucial, using Premiere Pro and After Effects to create digital content for our various platforms.
You must have a keen eye for footage and shots with an overall passion for video content, using initiative and a refined approach to deliver content that is consistent with the Soho House & Co brand. You'll be instrumental in telling the Soho House narrative through moving image and motion design.
Main Duties...
- Edit social/brand videos and animations from end-to-end - animations, sound design to post-production.
- Champion and apply our motion guidelines across the brand.
- Bring editorials to 'life' digitally i.e., Soho House magazines, campaigns etc. to make them digitally exciting for all touchpoint and social channels.
- Partner with our Community team to produce impactful content for our online social channels and community events.
- Work with external production companies, confidently advising on our motion guidelines and ensuring consistency.
- Work collaboratively with our Creative and Graphics teams, but also be able to confidently take the lead on projects and work independently, when necessary.
- Be a creative thinker and storyteller.
- Prioritise work load, manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively, and to work with key personnel in order to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Arching and organising rushes onto the company server
- An excellent on-line portfolio showcasing film and narrative.
- Highly skilled in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and other design tools.
- Experience working with marketing and editorial team to bring videos into live onto our digital channels.
- Enthusiasm for an iterative design process, inspired by group critique.
- Able to function independently and in a team environment, with excellent collaboration skills.
- Source the best music tracks and sound effects for a given project
- Responsible for creating proxies of footage when required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal.
- An understanding of Soho House, its products, and its customers is a requirement.
- Ability to grade footage would be a bonus
Requirements
- Reel with previous film and editing work is a must.
- At least 5+ years of experience in film and editing.
- Sound understanding of post-production to bring our edits to life
- Ability to work under pressure without compromising performance or accuracy in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong organisational skills. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
- Manage multiple edits and projects at the same time
- Bachelor of Arts, Production, film or Motion Graphics or related field is preferred.
